About the Artist
Wade Moravec is for the most part a Paleo artist. Primarily self taught, he taught himself how to draw Dinosaurs starting at an early age. His passion for the prehistoric started at the age of of four and has only grown ever since.
Born in Calgary, Alberta, he moved to Salmo, British Columbia at the age of ten. This was challenging for him as there was nothing nearby to inspire him. Salmo being a small village in the middle of nowhere, had nothing for him to do. To fill his days, Wade primarily played video games and made art to fill his days. Every year he would make a "pilgrimage" to Drumheller and the Royal Tyrell Museum. He used these trips as a source of inspiration throughout the rest of the year.
His life long dream was to be a Paleontologist. He graduated from Salmo Secondary school in 2011. But his mathematical skills were not up to par with university standards. Later that that year he went and took ABE at Selkirk College. after three and half years of upgrading his math and Chemistry, he barely passed the math principles 12 course. Knowing that the math was only going to intensify, he knew he was going to have to pursue his passion from a different angle.
In the Fall of 2015, Wade went to the Kootenay Studio Arts and enrolled in the Jewellery program. It is here that he learned the art of silver-smithing, designing Dinosaur jewellery. He will graduate with a certificate for Jewellery and small object design. He graduated from KSA in 2017 with a certificate in Jewellery and small object design.
In 2018 Wade moved to beautiful Drumheller, Alberta to pursue his career. He Joined a local gallery and the Dino Arts Association and has thrown himself into his art. Unable to find a studio to pursue Silversmithing, he got back into painting, and decided to pursue tattoo design.
